ARISAN AND CULINARY NIGHT

PERMIKA Calgary presents:

ARISAN AND CULINARY NIGHT

Arisan and Culinary Night are two regular events that PERMIKA Calgary holds every month. Basically, Arisan has different names every month, ARIJAN is also known as Arisan Bulan Januari, is the name for our Arisan in January, we invented that word by the way, and Arisan will be held at the coffee shop around Calgary – it will be different too every month. Furthermore, Culinary Night is simply an evening where we go to a restaurant (different restaurant every month) and have a dinner together. These two events may be held on the same day or it may be held on two different dates every month.
The rules are simple, we only recruit people who want to join our Arisan once a year, which is in ARIJAN, and so for those of you who want to save some money in Arisan you need to come on ARIJAN. We simply won’t allow you to join our Arisan in the middle of the year for the sake of less complicated system. Non member is also not allowed to join our Arisan, told you to join. Anyway, there are some more rules for our Arisan, which will be too complicated to explain here, so we will explain everything on the spot, therefore come. However, the most important rules in our Arisan are BRING CASH and NO UTANG. Moving on, since we need to make a reservation for our dinner on the Culinary Night, we really need you to R.S.V.P. to us (way before is better) by e-mail, text message, phone call, Blackberry messenger, or screaming in the front door of our houses (joking), so we know how many chairs we need at the restaurant. Otherwise, you have to sit on the floor. You have to cancel ahead of time too if you already R.S.V.P. to us but you have an emergency Brazilian wax you need to do. Aren’t that simple? We made these rules not to make your life more complicated, but we made these rules simply for the fairness and to make your life and our life less complicated than it already is.
We really hope you can join us for these regular events. Again, our goal is not to make you broke or to make you spend your money more, but it is to make us spend more time together and get to know each other better. Who knows your true love or your next true bff is someone in this cute little organization?

Cheers,
PERMIKA Calgary

EVENT REPORT: OPEN WALLET IN MRU

On December 1st, 2010 PERMIKA Calgary was holding a fund raising in Mount Royal University for Merapi victims in Yogyakarta and tsunami victims in Mentawai, which happened one month ago in our beloved country Indonesia. We raised CAD100.61 in this fund raising, which was not that bad. We started at 10AM and finished at 5PM. It was quite harder than we expected to raise the money because not so many students in Mount Royal University know about these disaster events that have happened in our beloved country. Another reason, for some of us this was our first time to did this, so we were not that solid yet to work together, but we are trying to. Videos, photographs, and articles were the medias that we used in order to inform the students about the horrible situation in Indonesia. By doing this fund raising we learned how hard it is to raise money for our beloved country, but we are not giving up. We are going to do another fund raising in University of Calgary on January 13th, 2011, which we expect and hope, is going to be more successful. Our hope by doing this fund raising is not only to raise money, but for us to learn how to work together to achieve our goal and become more solid. Finally, we would like to say thank you to Lisa Antichow for providing us a table; we also would like to say special thank you for Vedrianne Siagian for helping us soliciting (you did an awesome job!), and Huynh Thai Chau, and of course for all of the students and people who donated. Hope you guys have a great final!

UPCOMING EVENT: PERMIKANALAN

BOARD OF PERMIKA CALGARY

Hey guys!

PERMIKA Calgary board consists of five of the coolest Indonesian students in Calgary, so in case you haven't heard about us you should check us out!
Try Sutrisno - President
Michelangela Samiadji - Secretary
Francesca Sutanto - Event Coordinator
Muhammad Iqbal - Documentary Boy
Timothy Soegianto - Public Relation
The president of PERMIKA Calgary is the uber stylish Try Sutrisno (Shino), and then his four minions (sorry guys! :D) are Michelangela Samiadji (Misel), Francesca Sutanto (Cesca), Timothy Soegianto (Timmy), and Muhammad Iqbal (Ibong). The super talented aspiring artist, Misel, is the secretary of PERMIKA Calgary; she is in charge of everything administrative, such as archives, money matter and bla bla bla. The girl who is in charge of making our to-die-for-and-so-it events is the sweet and charming Cesca. If you are wondering who snaps your sneezing and omg-I-look-omg pictures, the great Ibong is the guy. Last but not least, we have Timmy, the guy who loves to talk on our Twitter and the guy who makes our previous event sounds oh-so-amazing-I-regret-I-didn't-come in our event report. These are the people who break their sweat to make Indonesian students in Calgary have better studying experiences in here. We are so proud to be a part of PERMIKA Calgary, and we will try and work our best to make Indonesian students in Calgary as cool as those who study in bigger and cooler cities. Finally, we, the board of PERMIKA Calgary would like to say "salam kenal dan salam PERMIKA!"

Cheers,
Board of PERMIKA
